Way Out Beyond (stanza one) by Dr Davy Crock-It

Leprosy, the most dreaded of terminal illnesses known to Jesus' contemporaries, was regarded as a God-willed illness, untreatable, and overpoweringly contagious. Lepers were relegated to colonies outside the outskirts of towns--way out beyond awareness, ease of access, and compassion. A preacher and healer named Jesus was a rare exception.

Way Out Beyond (stanza one) by Dr Davy Crock-It

Way out be-yond the sight of rich folks, the dy-ing dwelled.

De-nied con-cern and basic health-care, all in the death-grip held.

In-to this mess a-long came Je-sus, filled with God’s love.

For-get the cruel and cal-lous cus-toms, led to them by a dove.

Pre-ju-dice and god-less non-sense kept most folks at bay

Not Je-sus with his care for out-casts. No one was in the way.
